    A Certified Nursing Assistant CNA / Unit Secretary may give direct care to patients in the age group of adults and geriatrics.     Education and/or experience: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of Tennessee. Long Term Care experience is preferred.
    
    
    
    Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition. Must be knowledgeable in performing work involving routine care of patient and/or residents related to Activities of Daily Living (i. e. bathing, feeding, toileting, obtaining vital signs, documenting, etc.)
    
    
    
    Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Basic computer skills required. Must possess a valid driver’s license for transport of specimens, etc. to Blount Memorial Hospital. Must possess strong organizational skills.
    
    
    
    Abilities: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must possess leadership, flexi- bility & supervisory ability along with the willingness to work harmoniously with & supervise other personnel.
