The Department of Neurology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Foster School of Medicine is seeking a neurologist to join its faculty.

Major Functions:

Provide inpatient and outpatient general adult neurology clinical services, including neuromuscular or clinical neurophysiology services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic.

• Offer consultation services in affiliated hospitals.

• Deliver direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals.

• Diagnose and treat general adult neurological patients, including interpreting diagnostic tests such as

EEGs/EMGs and treating various peripheral nerve and muscle disorders.

• Supervise resident clinics and contribute to the overall teaching program for residents and medical

students, including presenting lectures.

• Engage in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

• Serve the academic community through participation in institutional governance

• Contributes to the community through academically-related public service

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental

policies and procedures

• Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of

Faculty Professional Responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

• M.D. or D.O. degree

• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program.

• Texas Medical License, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (Spanish and English).

• Fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine or clinical neurophysiology from an accredited

program in the United States.

• Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher

level.

• Certification and/or experience in neuromuscular medicine/clinical neurophysiology.

• Board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
