Job Summary: The Laundry Worker is primarily responsible for operating one or more pieces of laundry equipment in performing duties connected with washing linen, garments and other articles of clothing; and performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Sort and separate all incoming soiled linen and garments. Weights laundry. Loads and starts washers. Adds various detergents/chemicals into washer before and during the wash cycle. Keep daily records of wash load and time.
- Unloads washers. Loads and starts dryers. Sort and separates laundry for flatwork ironer and fluffy dry fold. Fold by hand, fluffy dry fold linen as necessary. Keep daily weight record of outgoing clean linen.
- Deliver clean sanitized linen to all units. Collect soiled linen from all units.
- Assist in orientation of new staff.
Basic Qualifications: Experience Education License, Certification, Registration Additional Requirements: Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum one (1) year of commercial or institutional laundering experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
