VASCULAR SURGERY OPPORTUNITYThe
Huntington VA Medical Center is seeking a BE/BC Vascular Surgeon to join our excellent physician surgery team. The
Vascular Surgeon will provide consultation and care for our patients in the Department of Surgery.
The Hershel "Woody" Williams Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, W. Va. is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility that provides primary care and specialty health services, including radiology, cardiology, mental health services, women’s health care, prosthetics, general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, pain management, palliative care, sleep medicine and more.

Major Duties / Responsibilities- Diagnoses, treats, and manages all vascular diseases/injuries. Participates in resident training.
- Assures that a high degree of quality patient care is always provided.
- Independently exercises creativity in solving problems without direct supervisory guidance to meet the varying needs of patients while under care in the Vascular Clinic.
- Exercises independent professional judgment in diagnosing the full range of complex vascular conditions as well as planning and executing the necessary treatment programs to meet complex and frequent changes in treatment objectives.
- Refers, when indicated, patients with multiple health problems to other providers within the facility and the VISN. Consults with physicians and others, when requested, to augment the care of their patients as it relates to emergent and traumatic conditions as well as Vascular manifestations of systemic conditions.
- Utilizes the general clinical privileges which include: ordering diagnostic tests as appropriate, writing prescriptions for medications or other items on the hospital formulary, hospitalize patients within the VISN as appropriate and discharge patients from outpatient care if it is determined that care is no longer required.
